Introduction

Welcome to publicity and outreach program of the School of Agriculture, Environment, Water and Natural Resource Management. This program was established October 2021 to spur the publicity of the School of Agriculture, Environment, Water and Natural Resource Management as well as the university in general. Under this program, a committee was formed and tasked with overseeing outreach activities of the school.

Objective of Publicity and Outreach programme
The primary goal of the program is to mentor high school students and form linkages with local communities. Our close interactions with high school students and the local community will leave a lasting and positive impact in their lives. The students benefit academically by interacting with lecturers in the school while the communities learn on sustainable natural resource management. On the other hand, SEKU researchers gain valuable experiences and insights that will inform teaching, research, and innovation by participating in outreach activities.

The publicity and outreach committee have held two major activities that included visits from secondary schools and after the bell initiative. St. Pters Voo, St, Catherine Lema, Mutonguni Girls, Kaani Lions, St. Martin Kithunguru. St. Peters Nzambani and St. Lawrence Kaluva secondary schools visited the SAEWNR in the year 2021 while Ngoleni, Kinaka, Ngiini, Ikatini, Kivuuni, Carmel Girls and Lawson secondary schools have visited the school in 2022.
